Designed in jugendstil (art nouveau) manner with inscription serving as a design element. The front decoration is made in etched techniquethe one that made mettlach so famous. The lid is pewter with highly decorative relief and a figure of nuernberg goosemana popular symbol of nuernbergfor the thumblift. F the lid is engraved with the pwner's namejgnatz jankorosky. Marked wiht merkelbach and wick manufacturer's mark on the bottom. There is a short hairline on the sideyou can see it on my side picture. The thumblift is repaired at the feet.
